When men were men

Back in the day when a man's word carried weight and honor and integrity were common. My grandfather "Wiley" lived in those days and although life was hard he never turned his back on his family. His wife died bearing his last child Jackie or Jack as sometimes she was called by her brothers and sisters, she was the youngest of the Hash clan (six sisters & four brothers). The place was White Top Va. in the late twenties.

Lifes gifts are fading away...

It seems as we mature the gifts that we have gathered along our journey get fewer and fewer. I have gotten to the point where some gifts are being taken from me. I am sure I will gather a few more along the road of life but they are becoming less frequent although they are more appreciated than ever. I recently noticed that truly dear gifts are fading away or simply being ripped out of my life. I am sure that most that read this will understand. The truly irreplaceable gifts have been friends and family that I have had in my life.
